Welcome to Podington Padel, an all-weather padel club situated on the border of Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire.
Tucked away in a converted grain store in Podington, our facility offers two top-of-the-range padel courts, suitable for all levels of play.
Basic padel rackets and balls are always available for free to have a go, plus you'll find vending machines to rent higher-spec rackets and to purchase balls.
Free parking, toilets and changing rooms on site, plus vending machines available to purchase cold drinks, snacks and great coffee, supplied by Bella Barista ☕️.
Matchi TV is enabled, which allows you to stream and analyse your game - just scan the court-side QR code before you start playing.
We need your help!
Many of you will know that our retrospective change-of-use planning application for the barn housing the Podington Padel courts was recently refused.
The main issue raised by Bedford Borough Council was that they consider padel courts to be a town-centre use and felt that we had not sufficiently demonstrated why this facility could not be located in a town-centre or edge-of-centre location instead. Putting aside that this is a farm diversification project and we didn't happen to have a redundant grain store lying in wait in Bedford town centre, we strongly believe that we in rural communities, and smaller conurbations, should have access to sporting facilities near our homes.
We have now submitted a revised application and would be incredibly grateful for your support.
Our aim has always been to bring high-quality sporting facilities to a rural area and provide opportunities for people from Podington and the surrounding communities to stay active, socialise and enjoy the sport close to home. We believe facilities such as ours have an important role to play in promoting health and wellbeing across the whole Borough, not just in the larger towns.

The Council requires users to register before commenting, but the process should only take a few minutes.

- why you believe it is valuable for local communities; or
- how often you visit and the benefits it brings
can help demonstrate the importance of the club.

Hey, I’m Alfie! I’ve been playing padel for around a year and a half and quickly fell in love with the sport. Whether it’s competitive matches, social games with friends, or meeting new players on court, I’m always looking to get involved and improve my game. I am also a Primary School teacher and want to get more young people involved in the sport.
Over the past year I’ve competed in and won a couple of tournaments, which has helped develop both my playing experience and understanding of the game. I’m passionate about helping others enjoy padel, build confidence on court, and improve their skills in a fun and supportive environment. I have also recently qualified as a BPCA Pro Padel Coach.
You can find me at Podington Padel every Tuesday evening from 7pm–9pm — come down for a hit, coaching tips, or just to enjoy the game!

Cardio Padel is an engaging fitness program that combines padel drills with high-energy cardio and strength circuit training.
You’ll learn how to warm up and cool down properly, improve your overall fitness, and reduce the risk of injury while enhancing your performance on court.
It’s a fun, social way to get moving and start your day with a heart-pumping, full-body workout.
Open to all players and fitness levels. Rackets included. Under 16s should be accompanied by an adult.

Intro to Padel (Tuesday Evening)
Lygis: 1 - 2Whether you’ve played racket sports before but are keen to try padel, or you are picking up a racket for the very first time, our Intro to Padel session is the perfect way to get started.
Join Alfie every Tuesday from 7–8pm for a fun, coach-led session designed specifically for complete beginners. Over the course of the hour, you’ll be introduced to the fundamentals of the game, including court positioning, racket grip, groundstrokes, volleys, overheads and serving, as well as how to use the glass and cage — an essential part of padel from day one. You’ll also learn the rules, scoring, and basic tactics, with the aim of getting you playing points and matches by the end of the session.
You don’t need to bring anyone with you to play — these sessions are open to anyone new to the sport, and we welcome all abilities. No experience is necessary, and all equipment is provided.

Ladies Social Padel
Join us for a fun and welcoming ladies-only social padel session.
These sessions are coach-led and game-focused, designed to give you plenty of match play while keeping things relaxed and social. You’ll play short rounds with different partners, making it the perfect way to meet new people, build confidence, and improve your game - all in a supportive environment.
