Champion of the Court - INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED - RIGHTSIDE
Champion of the Court is a competitive tournament format focused on a "promotion and demotion" system across multiple courts. Players compete in short, high-intensity matches with the goal of reaching and staying on the designated "King's/Queen’s Court" (the highest-ranked court).
Core Gameplay & Structure
• Court Hierarchy: Play will be across all 3 courts with RED being the top ranked court (King’s/Queen’s), BLUE the 2nd ranked court (“Challenger”) and YELLOW the 3rd ranked (“The Well”).
• Partner Rotation: Players must maintain their Left or Right court position (as allocated on entry) throughout the event.
• Match Duration: Five rounds of matches will be played over 17 minutes each. If the 17 minutes is up (whistle will be blown) during the middle of a point being played then that point should be played to its’ conclusion and scored. The match is then classed as finished.
• Scoring: Normal scoring system is used with “Silver Deuce” being played (ie. sudden death point played on 2nd Advantage point in a game).
• Promotion / Demotion:
o Only completed games count towards the match result; the team with the most games classed as the Winners. In the event a match is tied on games then whoever is ahead in the game being played takes the win. In the event that that game is tied on points then one further point is played as sudden death to decide overall winner.
o Winners move up one court and partners split to opposing sides.
o Losers move down one court and partners split to opposing sides.
o Winners on the “King's/Queen’s Court stay and partners split to opposing sides. The same is applicable to Losers on “The Well”.
• Event winners: The pair who win the final round on the King’s/Queen’s Court will be declared the event winners
