BACKGROUND
"SMASH SERIES" is the name of our thrilling new badminton series game - a result of a collaboration between Frescati Sports Center and SSIF. You compete agains other participants at your level. The winner of each division is qualified for the finals that takes place in the end of the semester (end of May-beginning of June preliminary).

THE SERIES
- All matches are played in Frescati Sports Center.
- It´s a mixed series (both women and men).
- All participants are divided into divisions with 6-7 players* in each division.
*depending on the number of registrations it can vary
- You will play one game against each player in your division, about 1 match/week for 5-6 weeks.
- All winners in each division wins a price and also qualify to a playoff tournament in the end of the semester.- Players are responsible for bringing shuttles and other equipment to each game. You can rent racket and buy shuttles at our reception.

YOUR SKILL LEVEL
ATT! When you register you need to fill in self-assessed skill level (Under "SPELSTYRKA") by comparing your skill to the different levels presented if you scroll down to the bottom on this page. Choose the closest level you think will suit you. Groups will then be formed based on the self-assessed skill level* *please note that some variation in level within groups may occur. The skill level number is not the same as the division number you end up in. We use your self-assessed skill level to be able to put you in a division with others that are near your skill level.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I´M REGISTERED?
When the registration is closed, we will start to put up the series schedule dividing all registered players in to groups based on your skill levels. Normally you will be able to login (to backhandsmash) to see match dates, opponents etc. a couple of days before the series starts. Registration is binding.
SCHEDULED MATCH TIMES
- Regular playing times are scheduled Sat-Sun (early morning and late evening hours).
- Extra times are available (usually mon-sun early mornings and some late evening hours) if a match time does not work.
-Everyone in the series will be scheduled to play their first series match on the first series weekend ( Saturday 17th of January- Sunday 18th of January 2026 at 09:00). After that the series matches will be scheduled on Sat-Sun (early morning and late evening hours) for 5-6 weeks.
- For those of you who want to play more than one game per week, or need to change a match time, you can easily re-schedule games in backhandsmash (in consultation with your opponent) and choose from our extra times available.

SKILL LEVEL - COMPARATIVE SCALE
1. Have never held a badminton racket.
2. Beginners. I´m learning the basics of badminton.
3. Beginners advanced. Know the basics of the game and can manage basic strokes. Knows the rules.
4. Leisure player. Played for a while and know the basics well. Can have pace in the game, clear baseline to baseline and use the whole court but does not play consistently.
5. Average. Have played a couple of years and feel comfortable on the court and can consistently play a variety of shots, like clear, drops, and smash.
6. Average advanced. As level 5 but can determine points with smashes and short strokes. More consistent and more control than level 5, has consistent footwork.
7. Experienced. Can defend and turn the game against the opponent. Can consistently use the backhand to clear and drop. Has fast footwork. In addition to matches, I practice specific badminton exercises.
8. Skillful. Master all the technical and tactical parts of the game. Can read the game and use different tactical elements depending on the opponent. I´m probably among the best players in my training facility and practice badminton regularly with coaches/training.
9. I compete regularly in local or regional tournaments and usually perform well. I play at a high intensity, have excellent consistency, and strong tactical awareness.
10. I’m among the best players at my club or in my local region. I train seriously, several times a week, and my game includes advanced techniques, quick decision-making, and tactical versatility. I have some experience in higher-level tournaments.

Along with that I have done highest coaching education in Badminton and I offer specialised footwork, technical and tactical training for Singles, Doubles and Mixed doubles in male and female cathegory.
